meet baylee

Hey there! I’m Baylee- Midwest born and raised, living in Colorado with 3 years in the travel industry. I grew up a small-town farm gal, so small-town living definitely fueled my passion to see the world (there’s only so much to see in rural Ohio)! My real travel itch began at a young age while watching my grandparents travel for World Ploughing Competitions (yes, it’s a thing- S/O to you Grandpa!!). I have core memories growing up of sorting through their international currency and collectibles, flipping through their travel photo albums, and even meeting many of the friends they have around the world and exchange Christmas cards with. These memories forever have inspired me to fill my life with good people, and unique experiences!

I’m a lover of a bucket list and spontaneity and wholeheartedly believe nothing has to be “once in a lifetime”. We get to pave our way through life- let’s fill it with things we enjoy!

When not traveling- you’ll find me hiking, skiing, or exploring the Colorado mountains with my husband Caleb and our golden retriever, Shay, or fixing up our 1960s bi-level home!

Most memorable travel experience to date? I have two that I can decide between:

  1. A safari through Chobe National Park. Safari is something I believe everyone should experience. It’s an indescribable trip. There’s something so special about witnessing the circle of life on Safari & the hospitality and landscapes in Africa are next level.

  2. My husband and I’s destination wedding in Mexico! There’s been no feeling to date that compares to an intimate group of your people traveling hundreds (even thousands) of miles to spend a weekend in a place you love, celebrating you and the person you love. It was the BEST weekend— boat day, beach day, salsa dancing, great food, great music, and great culture. Caleb and I loved our first visit to Sayulita, so sharing the same experience 2yrs later with our friends and family was pretty cool!

Some of my favorite trips to plan:

  • wine country everywhere

  • adventure travel & safari

  • mountain towns & ski trips

  • honeymoons

  • destination weddings

  • anywhere you can’t stop dreaming about! Let’s make it happen!

What makes a hotel stand out to you? I’m a sucker for a boutique hotel- local staff, chef, and bartender. They’re best buds with the restaurant down the street & the boutique around the corner. They hang local artwork & celebrate their culture. They welcome travelers visiting with open arms, and they’re always ready to share a story or recommendation. I’m also a sucker for a big bathtub with a view or an outdoor shower!

Bucketlist hotet? Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge & Dunton Hot Springs

Where do you dream of traveling next? I consistently adore California’s vineyards and the story behind each winery you visit. It’s a place I’ll revisit over and over again (and I’m not typically a revisit type of gal)— planning another stop here soon.

As for NEW to me destinations I’m dreaming about — Portugal and Argentina for wine, Rwanda for Gorilla Trekking, and Chile and the Galápagos Islands are on my list for more adventure travels!

Travel tip? I don’t believe in “some day” It’s never guaranteed. I also think it’s important to leave a little room for serendipity in your itinerary.

Go-to karaoke song? Anything Shania Twain is my go to!

“Travel is not a reward for working. It is education for living.”
